Cheek fillers, are an effective way to add volume to the cheeks, lifting them for a defined look or for simply replacing age related lost volume
Cheek fillers tend to have minimal side effects, and although you may experience some bruising or swelling, it’s usually minimal and goes down quite quickly.
Cheek fillers are a series of small injections of dermal filler which will add volume to the tissue in the cheek area.
By adding even small amounts of volume to the cheek area, you can create a lifting effect to the lower face that can help reduce Naso-labial lines (nose to mouth lines) without having to treat those lines directly.
Cheek filler treatment can offer the following benefits:
- Add volume to the cheek area
- Create contouring and definition
- Smooth out fine lines and wrinkles
- Lift and project your cheek and midface area
- Maintain a natural look

Cheek Filler Process
An anaesthetic numbing cream is not usually necessary for cheek injections as it is not an area as rich in sensitive nerve endings such as the lips, and injections are deeper than other areas so numbing is ineffective.
Injections are given into specific markers on you cheek area, and then firmly smoothed but not massaged.
It might feel uncomfortable but should not be painful.
The treatment usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes.
The affected area may be a bit red, sore and swollen. Any swelling or bruising should settle down in a few days and can be treated with a cold compress very lightly applied to aid comfort.
You will be advised about what to do to help reduce the risk of side effects.
This includes not wearing make-up immediately after the procedure and avoiding alcohol, caffeine, steam and saunas, heavy exercise and the sun or sunbeds. Also with cheek Augmentation, it is advisable to not sleep on your side until total healing has taken place around the two week mark.
